Speaking with Extra at a benefit fundrasier, Rob Lowe said the Drew Peterson story, which is set to become Lifetime’s newest made-for-TV movie, is “so compelling and dark and tragic… very complex.” Lowe will play Peterson, the alleged wife-killer from Bolingbrook, in the upcoming Lifetime movie “Untouchable,” which is based on a book written by Shorewood Patch Editor Joseph Hosey. According to Deadline.com, the movie, will explore the two cases in which one of Peterson’s wives was killed and another mysteriously disappeared. Lowe told Extra that he’s “never played anyone like Drew Peterson.” Peterson allegedly drowned his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in March 2004 but was not arrested until the disappearance of his next wife, Stacy Peterson, attracted attention to her death. “It’s a real transformative character for me to play,” Lowe told Parade Magazine. “It’s just a very different style than anything I’ve ever done before and I think people are going to be surprised.” Meanwhile, Lowe’s co-star, “The Big Bang Theory’s” Kaley Cuoco, told Extra that playing Stacy Peterson was a unique opportunity to branch out from her comedic career. “It’s a true story and it’s kind of gnarly … it’s fun,” she said in the interview. “I love “Dateline” and “48 Hours” … so this is living out a fantasy to do one of these sorts of movies. It’s going to be fun.” Lawyers for Peterson are demanding that filming for the movie be halted, arguing it invades his privacy and is nothing more than a “character assassination” that would “prejudice any potential jury pool,” according to a Chicago Tribune report. The lawyers, according to the report, ask the makers of the movie to “cease and desist” all work on the movie by Friday or face legal action. Peterson’s latest plea to get out of jail fell on deaf ears, as an appellate court shot it down and told him he’s not going anywhere. And in July, an appellate court shot down the prosecution’s ability to use hearsay evidence in the case. Jailed since May 2009 on charges he murdered Savio, Peterson has been waiting on the appellate court to return a decision on what hearsay evidence can be used against him at trial. The appellate court has been mulling over the matter for just shy of a year. Lowe said the movie would likely come out in January and that they shot two different endings should Peterson’s trial move forward and he be found guilty or innocent, the Parade report said. |

Kaley Cuoco has admitted that she has no idea what will happen between Penny and Raj in the next season of The Big Bang Theory. In the show’s recent season finale, it emerged that Penny and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) had spent the night together. However, Cuoco confessed that she isn’t sure what will happen next. “Last season was crazy,” she told Access Hollywood. “I think the writers have a lot of explaining to do. [Executive producer] Bill Prady said all the questions that you have will be answered, so that’s a good sign.” Cuoco also revealed that she believes Penny and Raj did sleep together but added: “I don’t know, maybe that’ll change. It seemed that way, but you know TV, you never know what can switch around. But I know it’s going to cause some strife between her and the guys.” Cuoco hinted that she doesn’t think Leonard (Johnny Galecki) is “going to be very happy” but suggested that he is unlikely to become involved in a fight with Raj. “It’s so hard to get mad at little Raj,” she said. “Maybe he will. Maybe there’ll be some punching.” Nayyar has previously admitted that he was shocked by the twist, while Prady has suggested that the fling will have a big impact on Penny. However, Prady has also hinted that the show will focus less on romantic storylines in the future. The Big Bang Theory will return for a new season on September 22 on CBS. |

When Emmy-nominated CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” returns to CBS on September 20, fans are going to get to find out if Kaley Cuoco’s character, Penny, really got together with Kunal Nayyar’s character, Raj. “Yeah, last season was crazy. I think the writers have a lot of explaining to do,” Kaley told Access Hollywood at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend. “[Producer/Showrrunner] Bill Prady said all the questions that you have will be answered, so that’s a good sign.” In the season finale of the hit comedy about a group of geeky eggheads and their delightful neighbor, Penny and Raj woke up in the same bed, and Kaley thinks that left little to interpretation. “I think they did [get together], but I don’t know, maybe that’ll change,” she said. “It seemed that way, but you know TV, you never know what can switch around. But I know it’s going to cause some strife between her and the guys.” And it will also cause strife for poor Leonard, played by first time Lead Actor in a Comedy series Emmy nominee, Johnny Galecki, who continues to hold a candle for Penny. “I don’t think he’s going to be very happy,” Kaley added. But could things get physical on Leonard’s part. “I don’t know, because it’s so hard to get mad at little Raj. Maybe he will,” she nodded. “Maybe there’ll be some punching.” Beyond hookups, producers previously revealed there will be a wedding this season, but it likely won’t be Penny and Raj. “I think it’s gonna be Bernadette and Howard,” Kaley said, referring to the characters played by Melissa Rauch and Simon Helberg. “I’m assuming, which would be great. Season 5 — that sounds about right for a show to have a wedding. I think that would be lovely. And what a blast.” And it allows Kaley a few more episodes without undergoing any TV nuptials herself. “No, that’s OK,” she said when Access pointed out that meant no wedding dress fittings for Penny. “We can wait a little longer.” |
