Big Bang bombshell! Beehive-touting Kaley Cuoco smoulders in Sixties styled shoot for “Zooey Magazine”
Kaley Cuoco has given hope to nerds everywhere with her winning performance as Penny in The Big Bang Theory.
A pin-up in the California girl mold for those with explosive synapses, the heroine of the CBS comedy is the heart at the center of this hugely popular show.
And the 26-year just keeps giving, because this photo shoot she’s kindly done for the March edition of “Zooey Magazine” is bound to go up on a few walls.
Kaley told Adelaide Now how the show has brought out her inner nerd.
She said: “I think we all have different moods — a nerd one day and cool the next. I think everyone has an inner geek and I know I definitely do. I think we all have a little bit of the characters within us.”
And she added about the show’s evolution: “Originally it was just the cute girl next door and the show started that way.
“Over the years things have changed, I’ve dated one of the characters, we’re all friends now and it took me a while to get into their group but now Penny is one of them and they all have a special relationship with her.”
Before explaining her vision for the future: “Deep down I want Penny and Leonard to end up together. Knowing the crazy, genius mind of (creator) Chuck Lorre that may or may not happen. And I would like to see Sheldon kiss a girl.”
Cuoco is set to wed Josh ‘Lazie’ Rusnik after the speech therapist in October.
The actress and her addiction specialist fiancé are said not to have set a date for their nuptials and little information about the engagement has been revealed.
Kaley, who find fame on the hit show 8 Simple Rules, previously dated her Big Bang Theory co-star Johnny Galecki after meeting him on set.
The relationship ended after two years.
The actress was also dating Chris French from the band Annie Automatic and the couple bought a dog together.
After Kaley broke her leg horse-riding Chris was on hand to help her recover and the couple even recorded a song together for the Humane Society of the United States.
Kaley has played Penny on the hit Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning series since 2007.

A bouncing ball of illuminating cheer. This is the only possible way I can describe Kaley Cuoco. Not Kaley Cuoco in the flesh…but Kaley Cuoco’s voice. While she sat in her “very girly/no boys allowed” beauty room lined with her marvelous collection of art work (I mean shoes) I sat at my yellow wooden kitchen table in my run down 1920’s Hollywood apartment. Despite being in two different homes, I swear I felt her reach right through her iPhone to give me a “hello” hug. I‘m sure she’s a hugger. It‘s in her voice.
We all know Cuoco for her California girl assets and leading roles on TV legend John Ritter’s “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter,” the WB’s “Charmed”, and of course as the genuine, yet dry-humored Penny on CBS’s smash hit: The Big Bang Theory. This young star who claims she “never had a desperate need to be an actress,” has wormed her way into the affections of Big Bang fans everywhere–no matter their IQ. If it weren’t for Penny’s lovable deportment and deliberate blank expressions, TBBT (a.k.a. BBT) would lose the relatable respite needed for those of us lacking interest in “Star Trek” or intellectual physics garble. Penny is the heart of the show–the “everyday girl” who has given nerds across the nation hope.
As I began my phone chat with the host of this year’s People’s Choice Awards, I hoped she would at least share some of Penny’s sincerity. One question of how she spent her rainy morning and I knew there was no need to hope. Sincerity was there. “I’m cooking dinner for my family tonight, so I’ve been running all around the market and getting ready.” As a longtime resident of L.A., I know how uncommon it is for anyone–especially a young beautiful celebrity–to spend a Saturday evening at home…with her family. Not on a night on the town. Not being seen by paparazzi. Not networking with other famous celebrities. Simply just quality time with the family. I instantly liked this. And her.
Here’s a behind the scenes video from the photo shoot!
